Wholesale Outdoor Catios: A Sourcing Guide for Premium Pet Supply Retailers
Share
Outdoor cat enclosures, or “catios,” have moved from niche DIY projects to a stocked category for pet retailers serving multi-cat and indoor-outdoor households. A 70-inch walk-in enclosure gives wholesale buyers a premium, ready-made SKU for customers who want their cats outside safely without building a custom structure.
Why Retailers Are Adding This SKU
Walk-in catios serve multi-cat households and premium pet furniture buyers who are willing to pay more for a durable, weatherproof structure rather than a basic playpen. The larger 70-inch format and tarp roof position this as an upsell item alongside standard cat furniture, with room for retailers to build margin into a category that still has relatively few wholesale-ready options.
What to Look for When Sourcing Outdoor Catios
- Weatherproofing and build quality — look for waterproof, durable wood construction rated for outdoor use, not just treated indoor furniture
- Tiered MOQ pricing so unit cost improves meaningfully as order volume scales from pilot runs to full container loads
- Easy-clean, multifunctional design that reduces the after-sale service burden on your retail or import business
- Certifications and compliance documentation for your target market — contact us to confirm current certifications
